Egypt Army Will Sack Cabinet, Suspend Parliament

The Egyptian army, now in control of the country after a soft coup driven by a historic popular uprising, has suspended Parliament and fired the Cabinet.

Meanwhile, celebrations are still underway in Tahrir Square, as Egyptians celebrate a peaceful end to the standoff with their own government.

The army statement was expected to be delivered later on Friday and followed President Hosni Mubarak's dramatic resignation after 30 years in power
