Egyptian cash - Pounds by Leonid Yaitsky

Cash in Egypt is Egyptian Pounds (EGP). Pound can be divided on 100 piastres, but you won't be able to find a banknote less than 25 piastres. 25-pisatres coins are quite rare. 1 USD is approx. 5.5-5.7 pounds, 1 € is 7 pounds. You may pay with US dollars as well. € is less popular, but usable too. If you are going on a spending spree in Egypt, you'd better use US dollars. Do not exchange more than 50 pounds a day per person - you will hardly need that, paying with pounds for taxi\bus and tips and with dollars for souvenires and excursions.
