An Egyptian scholar is determined to ask for the death penalty for people importing virginity faking devices into his country. Islam prohibits premarital sex, prompting some Egyptian women to restore lost virginity with virginity-faking devices. The device mimics blood, allowing to feign virginity. The scholar insists that faking virginity is against the religion, and hence vendours who sell these devices are eligible for death penalty.
Abdul Mouti Bayoumi said supplying the item was akin to spreading vice in society, a crime punishable by death in Islamic Sharia law.
Professor Bayoumi, a scholar at the prestigious al-Azhar University, said it undermined the moral deterrent of fornication, which he described as a crime and one of the cardinal sins in Islam.

Clearly only death will suffice for such a despicable act of fraud! - an amazing attitude from another one of the "Not Ready for Prime Time Democracy Players".

When you say "democracy" I think you are using it in the widest possible definition, no doubt

No, I am not. Or, maybe I am, depending on what "widest" means for you.
The essence of democracy is not simply majority rule. It is majority rule in the context of human rights, without which you simply have the tyranny of the majority.
Democracy is for people who recognize human rights and recognize limitations on what they expect that they can impose on others.
Clearly, he is not ready for democracy nor are the members of his religion who think as he does.

We are defining it in the same sense. Egypt is not a democracy in any real sense as I would see it
