Elaine Ivanowski, a teenage stripper at 19, is threatening to sue her high school, Quabbin Regional High School in Barre, for allowing an affair with a teacher to flourish when she was only a junior.

She says she also gave a lap dance to one high school teacher, but her lawyer Richard J. Rafferty, said that when word got out she was dating John Monfredo Jr, 36 and a teacher at her school, that the school should have stepped in to prevent the affair.
However, when Elaine Ivanowski told another teacher about the affair, he then asked her out and yet another stopped by the Centerfolds Club where she worked to get a lap dance.

“It created a hostile environment,” Rafferty said.

Elaine Ivanowski told Monfredo of her love in a letter to him when she was 18 and they began having an affair last summer.
Monfredo was also in love with her, but said he was not aware if the school knew of the affair or not, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette.

“Were there rumors? Yes,” Monfredo told the paper. “But certainly there were people within the school who knew.”

Lawyer Richard Rafferty accused the school of allowing Ivanowski to remain in a relationship that they knew about and could have been protected from.

“You can say she was an exotic dancer and she was 18, but it was not an equal relationship,” Rafferty said.

Elaine Ivanowski has since suffered from such bad anxiety that she couldn't take exams and the school banned her from attending her graduation ceremony last week.
