Election Day Results 2010: TV Schedule, Online Election Coverage
Election Day 2010 Takes Place on November 2 and We Have Compiled a List of Who We Will Be Following for the Election Results
On Twitter there are many users to choose from, probably too many to be honest, but we have a few we like to follow for up-to-the-minute coverage.
- CNN Politics
- FoxNewsPolitics
- MSNBC Politics
- CBS News
- Politico
- People will be using hashtags such as #ivoted, #electionday, #electionday2010 and #midtermelections to follow all the political coverage so you can use those too or do a search for those hashtags.
- You can also check in with Foursquare if you cast your ballot in DC, Virginia, or Maryland.
For updated online coverage we turn to the following resources:
TV outlets are also stepping up their online coverage in an effort to compete with the immediacy of the Internet and Twitter.
ABC, CBS, MSNBC and PBS will be streaming part of their TV election coverage online, along with CNN and Fox who are known for their online streaming coverage.
ABC will air election coverage from 9:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET in prime time, anchored by Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos. From 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the two anchors will stream a live program on ABC's website, on Facebook and the ABC News iPad application.
An ABC web only broadcast will also be streamed on Hulu, mobile platforms and Yahoo! starting at 7pm ET and anchored by John Berman and Claire Shipman.
CBS will not only make some of their coverage available on YouTube, but they will be on the air live for one hour in prime time, starting at 10 p.m. ET. Katie Couric will then anchor a live webcast for an hour after that.
NBC, starting at 9pm ET will have a two hour special hosted by Brian Williams, and then after the local news, they will be back on the air for four hours.
PBS will simultaneously broadcast its one-hour special with Jim Lehrer starting at 11pm ET. Lehrer will also do a one-hour webcast before going on TV.
Expect to see more integration between TV and the Internet this election day as most of the networks are stepping up their coverage across all mediums.
