Elizabeth Edwards Relieved After John Edwards Admits Paternity

The 2004 Democratic Vice President nominee John Edwards has admitted today to fathering a child with his aide Rielle Hunter. Edwards admitted that he is the biological father of Frances Quinn Hunter, Rielle Hunter's two-year-old daughter. Elizabeth Edwards has reacted to her husband's admission, saying "the whole family feels relieved."

Elizabeth Edwards said she hopes her husband's declaration of paternity will end the media scrutiny around their marriage. For years now, there have been speculations that John Edwards had an extra-marrital affair with his aide with whom he also fathered a child. The former VP nominee admitted the affair, but always denied that he was the father of Hunter's child.

Elizabeth Edwards is currently battling a non-curable cancer.
