The race for Houston Mayor has led to a slew of emails and fliers being sent out by the camp opposing lesbian candidate Annise Parker which are deemed homophobic by Parker's backers.

The fliers depict the threat to traditional marriage as "evil",  and emails listing the details of "the homosexual agenda"  have been sent out en masse.

Among the charges against the "homosexual agenda"  are allegations of a "multisexualism"  which seeks to draw in public school children beginning with Kindergarten pupils,  teaching them of the natural and benign nature of homosexuality in an attempt to "recruit"  them.

The fliers and emails are viewed by gay advocates and backers of Parker as shrill and hysterical,  and viewed by homophobia.

Many are seeing tactics which are akin to those which have been used against President Barack Obama's appointee for Director of Safe Schools,  Kevin Jennings.

Teaching homosexuality to school children, starting in kindergarten, as an acceptable alternative lifestyle. . . this is. . . multisexualism. . [it] enables homosexuals to recruit children to their lifestyle.
On fliers and mass emails sent to those opposing Houston Mayoral candidate, lesbian Annise Parker

Jennings has also been charged with advocating a multisexualism,  and being interested in lowering ages of consent for engaging in adult homosexual acts.  Gay advocates are appalled at the level of homophobia they have seen in charges against Jennings,  and in the emphasis in the Houston Mayoral race on Parker's lesbianism,  while ignoring virtually all of her virtues as a politician.

1.Legalize same sex marriage.

Mandate public acceptance of the homosexual activities.

  1. Teach homosexuality to school children, starting in kindergarten, as an acceptable, alternative lifestyle. This is known as multisexualism. This enables homosexuals to recruit children to their lifestyle.
  2. Lower or remove age of consent laws leading to relaxation of laws prohibiting pedophilia. See www.nambla.org/
  3. Elevate homosexuals to a minority class, leading to affirmative action for homosexuals in the workplace. Cross dressers could force employers to accept their actions at work.
  4. Prohibit any speech which opposes homosexual activity. This would be considered “hate speech” and have criminal sanctions. This would destroy 1st Amendment free speech rights for those who oppose homosexual conduct and the homosexual political movement.
  5. Require employee benefits to be provided to same sex partners.
  6. Elect candidates to office who will work to implement the homosexual agenda.

The AP yesterday reported on the rising anti-gay rhetoric in the Houston mayoral race.

The run-off election is this Saturday, December 12.

So, are any of the items listed untrue.?

If untrue, why not publicly rebut them, instead of trotting out the "homophobia" horse?

Unless of course.............

I recieved several of those fliers and they were on the outskirts of being outrightly homophobic and prejudiced. However, most ppl i have talked to who voted for Parker (only 14% of the ppl voted in the runoff) did so bc of her backround as a city controller and not due to an inclination brought about by her sexuality.

The now mayor has never advocated during her tenure in various public offices for advances in gay rights. Besides TX already outlawed it (no suprise) so it wouldn't matter is she did anyway.
