Emergency text message is received as part of alert function on Emporia phone

The Emporia phone has an integrated emergency button. You can save a total of 5 emergency numbers (relatives, neighbours, friends, emergency services etc.). When you press the emergency button on the reverse side of the phone, these numbers will automatically be dialled in the sequence you have pre-selected on the phone. When dialling the emergency number and during the call the phone emits a warning tone which lets both the user and the called party know an emergency call is being made. If it is not possible to reach the first person in the list the second, third, fourth and fifth numbers are called sequentually. This process is repeated up to three times until someone answers.

Once the call is connected, the called party has to press the "0" key within 60 seconds, otherwise the call is terminated.This is to avoid being connected to the called party's voicemail box. If no emergency number is stored, or should the phone not work because there is no credit it will dial the emergency number "112" (equivalent to "999" or "911" on a GSM phone) and contact the emergency services. For one hour after after actvating the emergency call function the phone will automatically anwswer all incoming calls.
