People voted new people in recently concluded Emmy Award 2010 against the previous trend of old is gold .

NEW YORK (CBS) Emmy voters are favoring fresh faces over golden oldies this year as they bestowed the statuettes on a number of first-time actors and shows.

Eric Stonestreet of "Modern Family," Jane Lynch and Ryan Murphy of "Glee," and Archie Panjabi of "The Good Wife'' all represented first-season shows.

Edie Falco is no newcomer to Emmy, having won repeatedly for her work on "The Sopranos" but it was the first time for "Nurse Jackie," which is only in its second season.

This is in sharp contrast to previous years.

Going into the show, "30 Rock" has three consecutive wins from 2007 to 2009 and "Mad Men" has two consecutive wins. Alec Baldwin of "30 Rock" has won two acting Emmys, as has Glenn Close of "Damages.
