End Of Days

Fast approaching 12-12-12 a date with infamy or not remains to be seen. Some have prophesied the end of the world as we know it while others have predicted an apoplectic event so catastrophic that mankind will be thrust into an era of unimaginable horror. The ancient Mayan's have long projected that the date 12-12-12 will bring about sudden dramatic upheavals all around the globe. They were not alone. Some 500 years before the Bible in the interpretation of the Book of Mathew foretold of climatic changes, events, and attitudes would occur during a time period called the "last days." These last days would come about in a dramatic climax.

Now, consider all the events that have happened from the 20th century through today. In the early part of the 20th century many were expecting a continued reign of peace. The only conflicts were regional not global. It was the start of World War I in 1914 that changed the landscape of the globe. The War shocked the entire world and actually marked the end of an era and began a era of unprecedented warfare. The Book of Revelations foretold "peace would be taken away from the earth so that mankind should slaughter one another." The evidence revealed is astounding, not because of the Bible's accuracy in foretelling of events that actually happened but from the events themselves that reshaped mans so-called evolution. From the first World War it is estimated that over 10 million people lost their lives. This does not count the millions more that continued to suffer unmercifully at the hands of what a global conflict actually does to humanity. The way the peace terms were following set the stage for another global conflict. Consequently, when Adolf Hitler rose to power the stage was already set for yet another more devastating global war. World War II was far more deadlier. Over 70 million people were killed. Again, this doesn't even count the millions more that suffered horrific consequences because of what leaders of countries were allowed to do. To this day leaders of countries continue to cause undo horror among their own people and all those around.

Since the end of World War II there have been over 250 armed conflicts in over 155 countries around the globe. The United States is still engaged in several armed conflicts today. All signs point that the Bible as well as what some have hypothesized that the Mayan's predicted to the end of days is really fast approaching. Other evidence points that most of world is facing very acute food shortages. From Mathew we take"There will be food shortages." It is estimated the famine has caused more than 65 million deaths in the 20th century. So far the first decade of the 21st century saw more millions continue to die and millions more continue to languish in acute depravation because of the lack of food, water and sanitation. Which by the way contributes to so many infectious diseases and what the Bible considers pestilence. It is like the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse already galloping right across the world today. According to the United Nations hunger is the world's greatest health risk and to date 1 in 5 people world wide are literally starving to death. Today's food shortages are not because of a one time weather driven crop failures but rather the way corporate farming has reduced the available top soil [which by the way crop rotation has become almost obsolete] rapid population growths in select areas world wide, spreading water shortages, and rising temperatures All of these factors can be addressed and solved but so far the political will has been sadly lacking.

In the years between 1914 and today has brought about an era of unprecedented hate and betrayal toward all of humanity. Hate fueled genocide has claimed millions of lives. In numerous countries armed conflicts and crime have all led to cycles of increasing fear and more violence. When the Nazi regime slaughtered millions of Jews and others the reaction of their ordinary citizens was not an outcry of horror and open retaliation but rather of indifference and dead silence of unconcern. Genocide continues through-out the world today.

What has become of our society right here in the United States has really set the tone of our moral decay. An era of greed, of immorality and outright embracing the concepts of men will and have become lovers of themselves, of money, of power and of control has taken hold in our society today. In so many instances there is too much blatant selfishness and self absorption with material things. When parents in their attempt to compensate for meaningful relationships are locked in a perpetual compulsive consumption cycle to appease their children does continue the cycle of selfishness which leads to more moral decay.

When we take a hard look at all that is happening across the world today are sure signs that the powers that be are oblivious to the signs that point that the end of days are almost here. Whether they are void of emotion or the will to steer a course that would avert a cataclysm of turmoil that would send humanity back into the caves of the Neanderthal seems to be a real probability. We need leaders with the emotion and the will to secure the concepts, the principals, and the solutions needed to avert a global Apocalyptic like scenario and prove that the end of days which is very close at hand will never come about.
