Ending the use of child soldiers in the Philippines

Let's hope the using children as soldiers soon becomes a thing of the past.  I find the practice, not just despicable, but for some reason it astounds me.  Maybe looking at the kids in my life is the reason, while some may play "cowboys and indians" or shoot 'em ups on videos, I just can't see these kids being straight out soldiers yet.  Their immaturity alone prevents me from getting use to that idea.  Their attention spans can change from one thing to another so quickly, and they are off doing something else.  Must just be me.

Since the late 1960s, successive governments have fought left-wing and Islamist rebellions in certain regions of the country, conflicts which have killed more than 160,000 people and displaced over 2 million.
