On Sunday night, over 2,000 Lillooet residents were evacuated on short notice, but the fire continues to spread. Today, the entire Lillooet District was evacuated. No structures have been lost overnight. The fire started nearly two weeks ago, but continuous efforts of firefighters to extinguish the fire remain unsuccessful.

The Mount McLean fire raging near Lillooet, B.C., took a dangerous turn for the worse Sunday night, forcing more than 2,000 residents to be evacuated on short notice.

Now, despite nearly two weeks of hard work by 60 firefighters, aided by 15 helicopters and 13 pieces of heavy machinery, the fire is no longer considered contained on any side.
