President Joseph Estrada made known Friday his intention to run for President in 2010 if the opposition do not unify and field a single candidate.

Estrada, convicted of plunder by the same government which grabbed power from him, which then granted clemency, insisted he could still join the race since his civil and political rights were finally restored when he was "pardoned" by Arroyo.

Estrada said he prefers Loren Legarda to be his running mate saying Legarda has both brains and beauty, and because she's popular and has political experience.

He said candidates are now going around the country feeling to pulse of the people. But he said, Legarda, Villar and Lacson must choose among themselves who should become the opposition standard bearer. If the ratings don't show them as number 1 or 2, then they should not pursue the presidency because it will be a waste of money.
