EU---Israel caused abominable destruction--Hamas is terrorist
The EU is being fair. There
is enough blame for Hamas
and for Israel for this war
which was unnecessary.
Speaking of the Israeli bombardment, he criticised the destruction of factories and other economic infrastructure: "What I saw was abominable. It was unjustified," Michel said.
He called on Israel to open its crossing points with the Gaza Strip "massively", to let in not only food and medicines but materials required for reconstruction.
Israel will not like the above.
Hamas is officially classed a terrorist group by the EU and other Western powers, his comments were especially pointed, days after an Israeli offensive that killed some 1,300 Palestinians.
"Hamas has an enormous responsibility for what happened here in Gaza," said Michel, the humanitarian aid commissioner, as he stood in a U.N. aid compound damaged by Israeli shelling.
He echoed Israeli criticisms that Hamas used civilians as "human shields" by fighting in populated areas and, describing Hamas rocket fire on Israel as a "provocation", he said in English: "Hamas is acting in the way of a terrorist movement.".
. A Hamas official, Mushir al-Masri, criticised Michel.
"It was shocking to see a European official giving cover to massacres and terrorism committed by the Zionist enemy against the Palestinian people," he said.
"Palestinian resistance is as legitimate as the resistance of European countries that fought against foreign occupiers.".
It seems that according to Hamas anyone who does not call for exterminating every Jew is anti-Palestine.

The major problem in debating this is that almost everyone is 100% for one side and 100% against the other. Even when someone criticizes both sides he is said to favor the enemy.

The majority of Americans support Israel's actions.

The issue/s of "disproportionate" response/s is a foreign concept in modern warfare and one that has no moral standing.

I am not totally on the side on Israel. I am on the side of the Pali kids, who have been victimized by Hamas and by their parents. How do we get them to stop?

Tikun,
Good comment.
I agree with most of this.
War is not a good opinion but it is often the only option and if a country goes to war it should use force to end it quickly.

I agree with both of your comments.
Thanks.

Hi Foks,
I hope not to be a lone wolf here but this is a war. Israel does have the military advantge but it is a country provoked by terrorism. War is a messy and destructive situation that leads to terrible tragedy for all involved. But apparently the cancer of terror organizations need to be eliminated if there is any possibility of peace. Few here like what we see regarding civilian casualties but we also know that if you allow terrorism to continue unchecked then you send the wrong message to Iran the financial supporter on international push for terror against western interests. Israel is the canary down the mine shaft. If it dies so will the rest of the free world. It is painful to watch on TV but sometimes necessary if it is to be eliminated or at the least contained to allow moderate forces to step up if there are really any this time.
