In an interview with Mehr news agency, speaking on the verge of conclusion of contract for Nabucco pipeline in Ankara, Turkey, Kasaizadeh added: “The pricing and a number of other political issues of concern have been the most important hurdles on the way of export of Iran’s gas to Europe. But, given the considered approaches, we expect these two cases to be generally solved.”

The capacity for transference of gas by Pars pipeline stands at almost 110m cubic meters per day and according to plans this pipeline with go through Turkey, Greece, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.

Investments worth nearly $4b are needed for construction of this pipeline and its needed gas is due to be fed by five phases of South Pars Gas Field.

Now Iran's view on the proposed gas pipeline, is there a deal going down with Iran? Stop your Nuculear program and we will buy your gas?

However is it cost effective to send the gas so far, well Iran seems to think there would be a problem or is that a sour grapes atitude?

I totally resent the anti-Iran hype which is fuelled by the United States.

I know plenty of people from there. While they may not love the regime, they have no issue whatever going there regularly to see friends and family. The reason they are in Europe is mainly for economical betterment.

If the regime is a problem, let the Iranians themselves solve it. It is not the problem of anybody from any other country. Most Europeans realise this, also a lot of people in Israel, although they may feel slightly under threat from Iran.

With regards to buying their gas - sure; if they are willing to sell, we need it here, so why not?

I was under the impression there was some kind of embargo against Iran but it may be that only the US participates. I don't care to boycott Iran and am happy to support trade with that country.

This article outlines economic, trade, scientific and military sanctions against Iran, which have been imposed by the U.S. government, or under U.S. pressure by the international community through the United Nations Security Council. Currently the sanctions include a total embargo on dealings with Iran by U.S. citizens, threatening the world's oil and gas companies against investment in Iran, and a ban on selling aircraft and repair parts to Iranian aviation companies. One exception is that US-made goods can be supplied to Iran under certain circumstances as long as they are shipped to Iran from another country. This exception was a result of the original Executive Order restricting trade with Iran.
