Experts warned dispersal of Tamiflu would do more harm than good

The government rejected advice from its expert advisers on swine flu, who said there was no need for the widespread use of Tamiflu and suggested that the public should simply be told to take paracetamol.

An independent panel set up by the Department of Health warned ministers that plans to make the stockpiled drug widely available could do more harm than good, by helping the flu virus to develop resistance to the drug.

But ministers pressed ahead with a policy of mass prescription, fearing the public would not tolerate being told that the millions of doses of Tamiflu held by the state could not be used during a pandemic, one of the committee members has told the Guardian.

"It was felt ... it would simply be unacceptable to the UK population to tell them we had a huge stockpile of drugs but they were not going to be made available," Professor Robert Dingwall, a member of the Committee on Ethical Aspects of Pandemic Influenza, said.

Today one of the country's foremost flu experts called for the national helpline to be shut down to stop hundreds of thousands of doses of Tamiflu going out in an unregulated way, which could render it useless when a more dominant strain returns in the autumn.

Pandemic of stupidity thats lead to drugs being prescribed that could be more dangerous than the mild flue its supposely supose to prevent or cure.

Profits where seen by the unscrublious in corruption bribes and share options, Tamiflu has so many side effects and one is sucidal depression that can effect the youngest members of our society.

A scientist who advises the Government on swine flu is a paid director of a drugs firm making hundreds of millions of pounds from the pandemic.

Professor Sir Roy Anderson sits on the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), a 20-strong task force drawing up the action plan for the virus.

Yet he also holds a £116,000-a-year post on the board of GlaxoSmithKline, the company selling swine flu vaccines and anti-virals to the NHS.

Working with governments internationaly across the globe on this panademic scam.

Now we see the British government still continuing the scam even though the facts are all out of the basket and they are still advertising Tamiflu of which in my opinion and many experts opinions more dangerous than this mild flu. I have flu at this very moment and I am definatly not taking government prescribed medication and this flu I have seemgly if not so mild. Yesterday and the day before I thought I was dying (not really but it felt that way). Such flu's here last for weeks on end sometimes I have a feeling its H1N5 because of the large population of chickens. It's of course kept under wraps here that there are many out breaks as cock fighting is the national blood sport. I have had this type of flue 3 times over the past 9 years.

Taking paracetamol or ibuprofen is the best advice ever, I my self am dosing up on paracetamol and a couple of hot toddies at night works wonders. Also horse liniment is working wonders to take the musle pains away.

My flue could be first line infection of H1N1 or H1N5 as I live in the tropics with chickens and pigs close by. Yes here in the Philippines farm animals live in the cities a thing that needs to be changed. The Flu that has infected both my partner and me is not mild, but we are both feeling a bit now but know that it could last many more days perhaps a week or so. but we won't die.

One interesting thing is that I am starting to believe that its better to catch the flu when your fit and healthy, than prevent it as resistance to new strains is higher and a natural process. Its only those that have health problems or very elderly that need protection to build up an imunity that their own imunity system can not do on its own.

It's just like the fact when I arrived in Southeast Asia I was prone to tummy bugs and now after 9 years I am very resistant to them. Sometimes natural restistance is cut down by medical intervention and products like Tamiflu and flu jabs are actually making us more at risk at not providing natural imunity to viruses and bacteria. Seemingly some of these magic so called cures are dangerous to many people within society those that could fight of the virus when infected anyway.

I really do not think our children should be given Tamiflu and Relenza there is too much risk involved.

I wonder how many people die due to the common cold? I expect it would be on par with H1N1 and H1N5. Then lets look at how many people die with AID's. At present HIV is the real and only panademic that needs more attention for a cure and prevention. Flu hell no! Stupid corrupt scam!

Yep when you get flu you may feel like your dying but your not and the best thing is to get up do some work in the house and keep active, go out gets some air in the garden, even do some gardening and not feel sorry for one's self. Medication can be life saving but please lets only use it when really necessary and lets be wise.

These governments are not being sensible and that of course is due to corruption, please don't help them get rid of their stock piles of unnecessary and possibly dangerous cures. Seemingly they don't care if children die or are harmed due to this pandemic scam of theirs.
