Granted Youth are turned off by Oldies wearing spandex at the local gym complete with generous amounts of "Turkey Wattle" bulging from every area of their Aged Bodies!  Elderly Restaurant Patrons, with a days worth of stubble, with crackers stuck to their chin as they loudly "Slurp the Soup du Jour", certainly not appetizing to others in the room, or a Gaggle of old Ladies from the Old Age Home with their "Social Security Money" in hand enjoying a "Chocolate Whipped Cream Sundae", whereby as they Savour every spoonful as if it were their last.  Somehow as these Ladies scan the room looking for Male conversation, you cannot help but notice that when they look directly at you, they loudly smack a salacious spoonful over their Hastily Applied Garishly Red Lipstick, it looks more like an "Old Cougars Club", than an innocent outing.

I remember in my youth in the early 80's going to a dance club with the rest of my 20 something friends, to find  40 and 50 something married Businessmen, complete with "Bad Combovers and a Ponytail" in their "Groovy Steve Austinwear Leisure Suits", scotches in hand, dancing the "Monkey and the Mashed Potato" to Van Halen or Prince, thinking they are the Ultimate Disco Studs to show us young'ens how to dance 60's & 70's style dance moves, while hitting on all the 20 something ladies in the bar, in which my lady friends would accept a drink, but leave as soon as the they approached with their "Disco Stu" moves.

Certainly those times made us youth then to avoid Dance Clubs near Business Districts and Suits.  On another Note come full circle as we are now in our late 40's some of my friends once "Age Aversioned"  are now finding a second career frustrating when out in the working world find Human Resource types in their Early 20's, politely declining to hire them as they are not Funky enough or Vibrant in the Latte and Ambercrombie Workplace.

Certainly Karma biting you in the ass. As a lesson to the Youth today, that in the "Blink of an Eye" you will soon be us, you will be 40 something!  Something to think about before it is too late.  But as we always said, Live for Now!

My Final Thought

Youth who Rip on the Aged, in a Pinch have no problem when in trouble relying on the Aged.  The Aged I mean Good Old Mom and Dad. Especially when those Youth, are Jobless,Carless, Mealess, Moneyless and Homeless, then Old Mom and Dads "Rent Free" Basement Suite is the Cat's Meow. Nothing like 3 squares a day, as Mom does your laundry, Dad hands you a few  bucks, and the keys to the Family Car so you can drive to Blockbusters to rent the latest Videogame to fill your day, while lamenting to your folks and friends that your Bachelors of Arts Degree doesn't have employers knocking down your door with job offers that Pay $80 grand a year with an expense account and Car.

Nothing more pitiful than seeing a late 40 something walking around in Hip Hop or Rapper Clothing reliving his Days in the Hood, when his Hood comes with a Walker and Handicap ramp.

Anyone who believes the Hype of 60 years old is the New 40 or 50 is the New 20, never tried to apply for a job.  Certainly this Hype was likely created by those fast approaching middle age and do not want to get lost in the Youth Shuffle!

As they say, What goes Around, Comes Around. But you're not going to listen are you? After all, this is advice from a 50 year old and I know not what I speak.

Experts say young folks put off by presence of older people ...Sarah Schmidt, The Ottawa CitizenPublished: Friday, May 09, 2008

Young customers don't want older people around when they're eating out at restaurants and will avoid patronizing health clubs and other service industries related to physical activity if senior citizens are present, a new study suggests.

In select sectors of the service industry, like restaurant dining, a Concordia University researcher found that the presence of elderly customers resulted in lower evaluations of service quality from university-age customers.

When it came to physical settings, namely a health club, "the presence of old or middle aged adults not only drove young adults to regard their service more negatively but also depressed their patronage intentions."

Barry Artiste, I like this story. An enjoyable read, and so true... :)

Thanks Amy, we'll all get there one day, faster than we think!

Hmmmm... Youth abhor the aged huh? I knew my one-old man crusade to pass gas in crowded public elevators would pay off somehow.

Well.. what goes around will come around and in about 30 years when these young'uns are all growed up and they'll all have to work menial jobs serving their Chinese uberlords once our economy collapses. By then I won't be around and therefor won't have to worry about those kids either making fun of my ass in those speedos or about those punks walking all over my lawn.

Here's to the Grey Panthers my man...

Barry Artiste, Good Stuff.  Having once been young, I can fully understand the repulsion. Really, who wants to think of two geriatrics having headboard pounding romance whilst skin that shouldn't sag is flapping all the over the place?  (Try getting that image out of your mind).

Of course, now that I am safely out the youth demographic, I say sagging skin is better than no skin.

Good read--made me chuckle.

Thanks to everyone for your comments, very much appreciated and hysterical.   I swore that fold of skin photo posted by farlevi looks more like elephant skin than old fart skin.   As you stated Scribe, "Oldsters doing the Baloney Pony Ride, Complete with the Sounds of a Rancid Meat Slapping Dance" against a headboard is way too much information for me to even envision! And Mikasi outlook makes it that much more funny!!

Barry Artiste, a creative opinion, for sure!  Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Rhonda, young kids today do not realise they will be strapping on "Depends" sooner than they realise. It seems like yesterday I was a young man in my mid twenties, but am soon brought back to reality when I see my three grown kids and wonder where the hell the time went?

Beaulieu

I think it depends.  I  would rather be stuck with a bunch of 'old biddies' who may have fun and have a warped sense of humour than be stuck with people my age who have become 'all serious and dreary' and rabbit on about DIY.

I remember I gatecrashed a 18th Birthday Party because the wedding I was invited to was extremely boring. We had a really good time and I will never forget the skinheads at the pub table waving us off cheerily! (That's after my umm friend danced on the table).

If you take yourself too seriously  then you won't get on with the young'uns. Lately I was invited by a young'un to a 'teenage nightclub'.. in fact this happened twice! (We all liked the same music).

Guess in England there are exceptions to the rule, whereas in Vangroovy there are very few exceptions apparently from this survey. hahaha, thanks Beaulieu for the comments.
