Explosion rocks Hamas training base in Gaza
News without Opinion.
A massive explosion rocked a training camp belonging to Hamas in southern Gaza late Tuesday night. Medical officials and witnesses reported at least six operatives belonging to the Islamist group were wounded in the incident.
Fearing there may be others still trapped under heavy debris, Hamas' military wing said it dispatched earthmovers to the site, which was built on the ruins of an Israeli settlement near the town of Khan Younis.
Emergency response teams swarmed the scene of the disaster, the explosion having echoed loudly throughout the neighboring town. The origin of the explosion remains unclear at present time.
Witnesses said the blast destroyed the base, and a fire was burning there an hour afterward. They said a second, smaller blast was heard about 15 minutes after the first one. Hamas gunmen kept reporters away from the scene.
Last Friday five Palestinians were killed when a car exploded near the beachfront, in Gaza City. Two of those killed were senior commanders belonging to Hamas' military wing, and two others belonged to the lower ranks of the group. A young Palestinian girl was also killed in the explosion, which wounded 15 other Palestinians.
Hamas blamed rival Palestinian faction Fatah for the explosion, and rounded up hundreds of men loyal to
Palestinian Authority
Update.
The Islamist group did not blame anyone for causing the blast at a base near the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis, and local residents said it may have been related to a work accident.
The Israeli army said it was checking the report, see here.

korzac, I like this story. It's good stuff. Did it to themselves?

The Hamas has to made a choice between alternatives:
If they do it to themselves then it is a 'Work Accident' and they need to learn their lesson . If they decide to declare: the 'Fatah is involved ' then the Hamas will have a pretext to put more Fatah supporters in jail. If they decide to declare: the IDF is involved, then they will fire qassams on Sderot. Any choice will cause further consequences...
Rene thanks for the GS.

Jordan, Hamas has his own special 'currency'. Many times commentators believe that they pay or buy with the western currency of talks and signed agreements. This is misunderstanding their fundamentalist real goal to destroy Israel. So now in tahadya time (truce) they prepare their next coup. The explosion, accident or not, reveal it.
