Fadwaan “Fat” Murphy, a feared South African drug lord, was found out to not be the man everyone thought he was. During a police raid at his Kuils River home Murphy's strap-on dildo fell off revealing his well-hidden secret that he was not a man but rather a hermaphrodite.

The head of a feared illegal drug operation in Cape Town, South Africa, Murphy was arrested on charges stolen property and corruption following complaints from locals. During his court hearing Murphy was forced to fess up to his true identity after inconsistent identification documents were brought to the court.

According to Murphy, whose real name is Hilary,  in a statement "I had a vagina that could not be penetrated. But I also had male organs, testes. But I always knew I was really a man and that was what I wanted to be." Defending his gender identity, the drug lord stated, “God created me with both sexual organs. It was God’s decision, not mine.”

In the hearing Murphy was quoted as saying, "I was born with a disability that could have happened to anyone Children have been born with two heads."

In a statement to the Sunday Times, Murphy's mother, Faiza Allie, said she tried to raise Hilary as a girl but to no avail.

"He wanted to wear pants, Nevada's, and Grasshopper shoes. Not even on Christmas Day did he put on a dress."

"When he was at school he used to go out of the house with his school dress on, but around the corner he would take it off and go to school in pants. Just before he got home, he would put the dress on again."

The prosecutor has launched a fraud investigation citing the drug lord's two identifications, but Murphy argues that he is indeed a man saying, "I would not describe myself as having a sex change - I only had the female parts removed. My kids, a girl of four and a boy of one, come from my testes. I never developed breasts. I look like a man, I talk like a man. I am a man." Married twice, Murphy question how he could have legally been married and divorced if he "did not have a legal identity document?"

Murphy admitted he underwent a series of procedures at Cape Town's Groote Schuur Hospital in his teens to correct his gender and was then issued a male identity document.

A stipulation of his bail mandated that he not return to the Lentegeur area but, even with the condition lifted, Murphy has chosen not to return to the area.

Due back in court March 2, 2010, Murphy is launching his own lawsuit against Mitchell's Plain police station commissioner, Jeremy Vearey, for crimen injura.

"If Director Jeremy Vearey and his fellow officers (who arrested Murphy during the raid) think that they have robbed me of my pride and dignity as a man, then they are fooling themselves.

"Vearey is harassing me because I am suing him for crimen injuria. He says that he is pursuing me for drug dealing - what has that got to do with my gender? My sexual status is not a criminal offence."

"I am what I am through the creation of God. I stand firm as a man, as a husband and as a father," Murphy said to the Sunday Times.
