Families (in Galveston, Texas) falling through cracks with FEMA

After Hurricane Ike came shore Sept. 13, leaving a trail of destruction along much of the upper Texas Coast, 489,472 Texas residents registered for housing assistance.

As of Thursday, 68,904 registrants — 14 percent — had received assistance from the federal government.

The rest were denied because they did not qualify for help under federal guidelines.

I have a problem with these numbers: if 430,000 people were denied assistance from FEMA, wouldn't at least some of them be using the internet/Web 2.0 to voice their outrage? Yet if you look around the 'net, search Google, etc., you won't find a single person complaining (and don't tell me that's because they don't have the 'net in areas affected by Ike...where do you think I'm posting this from?)
