The Family of a missing woman is hoping a billboard put up today along side a busy in roadway in Danbury will bring in new leads to the 25 year old mystery.
"I think just by people seeing her, it can jog someone's memory or it they do know something, they'll just come forward." said Beth Profeto, the woman's daughter.
Mary Badaracco disappeared during the summer of 1984. She had recently moved from Danbury to nearby Sherman after building her dream home with her husand of 14 years. Beth said she thought her mother would finally get to live the life she deserved. Then, Beth said, she got the call which still haunts her today.
"We were just told on August 20th that she was gone," Beth Said.
"Who told you?" I asked.
"The step-father but we were also told not to report it to police," Beth said eventhough she went straight to the police back then. But with no arrests in connection with her mother's disappearance, Beth fears the worst but wouldn't point any fingers for fear of jeopardizing the investigation.
"I only know that someone ripped her from our lives. There are five grand children and two daughters that she would have never left," She said. Beth also elieves her mother's killer still lives in the Danbury area and she hopes the billboard will "haunt" someone into a confession. However, it is important to point out the missing woman's husband has never been charged with any crime.
