While concentrating on the Beijing Olympics 2008, many people in Florida especially the Florida Keys are paying attention to Tropical Storm Faye. Tropical Storm Faye has left Haiti after passing through Haiti/Dominican Republic. It is now crossing Cuba with the possibility of entering Florida. According to the Weather Channel and Radio Reloj, The Latitude is 20.0N and 78.8 W on the 17th of August 2008 at 8:00AM Miami Time. There is the possibility that it could hit the area of Tampa as a Category One Hurricane.

It must be remembered that Hurricanes are classified according to the Safir-Simpson Scale named after the people who designed the classification. Category One is the Lightest and Category Five is the Strongest. The Florida Keys have a mandatory evacuation for non residents while residents have been buying food, and hurricane shutters. There are people in Miami, Florida who are buying food, and filling the petrol tanks in case Tropical Storm Fay were to land. We are expecting that Faye will hit Florida on early Monday or Tuesday Morning. There is also a possibility of heavy rains.
