After falsely claiming that fewer young people are using drugs today, FBI director Robert Mueller said marijuana should not be legalized. Moments later he had to admit that no adult has been killed by the drug.
Mueller then claimed that marijuana was a “gateway drug,” to which Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tennessee) mocked him by stating that milk was a gateway to beer: “the gateway theory doesn’t work.”

I could have told him that years ago.

The true gateway drug is NICOTINE.
Nicotine creates a physical addiction right in the Substantia Nigra and other areas of the brain that involve DOPA, the dopaminergic system that uses adrenaline derived from phenylalanine or tyrosine, amino acids, both.
If you compared the success rates on heroin addicts quitting heroin with heroin addicts who were also cigarette smokers, you would find that smoking makes it harder to quite heroin.
Personally, I completely accept Nader's positions on this: legalize heroin for registered addicts and legalize marijuana, while keeping meth and cocaine illegal.

I agree Roy,
I stopped smoking cigs years ago and it was not an easy battle. Few false starts but with young children I decided to stop as they would find my cigs and put water on them to keep me from smoking. Sweet loving kids.
I am not sure about legalizing but certainly allowing the easy access to them from registered places that will provide the drugs under supervision.
