Fidel Castro, the old Comandante, has given President Obama some unexpected praise over the climate change speech that the American President delivered to the United Nations on Tuesday.

It is not too often that an American President gets extolled by the Cuban leader, but Castro went as far as to call Obama "brave" for having the courage to blatantly state that the developed nations are the ones responsible for causing much of the damage leading to the global climate change.

Castro wrote in his column that "the President of the United States admitted the developed nations have caused most of the damage and must assume responsibility."

"It was, without doubt, a brave gesture," he said.

"No other (U.S. president) would have had the courage to say what he said," said Castro.

An olive branch or honest acknowledgement?

I would not have been so generous with President Obama his speech, since the actions so far lack serious change and so do the projects under way.

China is doing far more then the US in this area and yet advertises it far less.

Results and actions mater more then fine speeches.
