At least 150 thatched houses were reduced to ashes and six people suffered burn injuries when a major fire swept through Ali village in Indian coastal state Orissa's Kendrapara district. At least six people sustained burn injuries after a half burnt house caved in on them when they were trying to douse the fire. They are undergoing treatment in a local hospital.
