Fire in the hostel for homeless killed atleast 17 people in the northwestern poland.Authorities say that there were 70 people in the hostel when the fire broke.Several of the resident jumped from the three storey building to save themselves.The death toll may rise as the rescue operation is still on.
At least 17 people have been killed in a fire at a hostel for homeless people in north-western Poland, reports say.
Up to another 20 people are believed to have been injured in the blaze in the town of Kamien Pomorski, a fire service spokesman told the AFP news agency.
Many of the injured had leapt from the hostel's windows, Pawel Fratczak added.
At least 77 people were staying in the three-storey building when the fire began overnight, officials said. Rescue crews are searching through the ruins.

Thanks for posting this Amitjha, the most recent news is reporting that 21 people were killed during the fire.

The death toll is rising because almost 20 people jumped from the third floor, and many of them are critically injured.
