The first ever official White House Obama family portrait was released yesterday, and can be seen on the Official White House Flickr photostream.  The portrait was taken on September 1st by the famous American photographer Annie Leibovitz.

She has occasionally done portraits of political figures, including one of Queen Elizabeth II during a state visit to the White House in 2007.

How appropriate they chose her.  She is so deep in debt and has been for a long  time. She was being forced to file for bankruptcy but the last I heard some were going to hold her works as collateral .  Tis a boring story typical of the arrogant who fly to high and cannot balance a checkbook.  She is a typical elitist...they magnetize each other...She is at the top of the snob list in "the" art world.  Spend , spend, spend and charge , charge , charge because do you know who I have photographed???????????????????????

Grandiosity at its best mz Annie is.

I must say tho the pictures of the family are wonderful.!  The girls are gonna be alot prettier than their parents and especially their Mother.

Any good photographer could have done it.  They gotta help the underdogs

Yeah, interesting that Annie Leibovitz was chosen, over the underdogs.

So she gets paid because of her name?  Sounds lame to me.

I would have loved to see a lesser known photographer get a shot at this gig.
