Police reconstructing the fatal accident in southern Austria say the speedometer in the wreckage of Haider's Volkswagen sedan was stuck at 142 kilometers per hour (88 miles per hour).

Hello!
I hope I managed to understand all this stuff written in a quite bad English. I don't think that there is any current "GPS-technology" able to induce such a car accident. Mr. Haider's ennemies don't use these kind of techniques, they have many other means to discredit unhandy politicians (mainly by using the media).

I don't think that there is any current "GPS-technology", makes fear, can understand, a simple modern mobile phone in a car can locate by GPS your position, as well as anti theft systems operate on GPS. May be MI5/6 speaks better english like you.

He was reelected already, and did not have the slightest chance of becoming president. By the way the president was not elected and does not play a very active role in the austrian poitical system. The rest is just straight B.S.

Speed was calculated from reaction of the car tire tracks. It could be rounded to 140 kph, but the calculation was 142, so go with it.

Both right wing parties had alreay coaliton talks, means majority, means leadership. For a remote controlled accident ourdays, you need no paparazzi like in a tunnel, you just need GPS in open Air. Fairbanks, the speed was calculated by a german VW man not Austria police. VW says it produces secure cars, sothe speed of Haider's car 142 kmh. The british journals reported speedometer got stucked at this speed, ridiculous. The VW has an electronic impulse speedometer, that returns to 0 when power (or speed) is off. It is not like a watch that stays on the time when power is cut off. The investigation is to speedy to provide results of brake and security electronics of a multiplexed car electronic. The fact, no snow, a straight ahead street and a 4WD car with a good driver, hard to explain.

All not true. The two "right-wing parties" (surmising you mean BZÖ and FPÖ) did not get a majority in the last election. The president of Austria is elected directly by the people, Heinz Fischer's term runs until 2010.

I don't quite get what you're after. In 2010 Fischer will be reelected, unless something completely unforeseen happens. AFAIK so far every Austrian president who sought a second term got elected to one. What's your connection between the current crisis of the financial markets and the office of Austrian president?

From the looks of the wreckage the car was moving sideways and the tires would be leaving skidmarks until the car flipped multiple times. Any crash over about 110 kph would be considered non-survivable in any vehicle although sometimes miracles happen.

Fairbanks, crash over about 110 kph would be considered non-survivable. This is an American view. In europe we drive over highways with 200 kmh. Not many accidents happen at high speed, unless a sudden obstacle (here beton pillar) cutting the car in the middle. No public report filed in any newspaper, just repeating 142 kmh is not trustworthy.

Babel-Fish......the guy feel a sleep at the wheel. Possible, but he just bypassed another car a minute before. Haider had many enemies around the planet. They knew in the economic crisis he will come back into power. Car accidents are the most possible form to die from terrorists, secret services. They are all specialised from mobile phone trigerred road bombs to remote controlled steering wheels, going at the right place in the wrong direction. Especially the BBC report Haider back from night club, probably drunk 142 kmh, a Brittney Spears story, no reality in this case (read explainer). We will see more in 2 months, when the car is examined. This is the time for such an electronic 4WD to check through.
