My vote counted today at 7:00 a.m. Remembering the 2000 and 2004 elections, and the primaries of 2008, the question now is whether my vote will be counted tonight once the polls close.
It is not that we must doubt the democratic process. It is just that we must be alert to protect our rights and freedoms.

I too voted in Florida on election day. The difference between us is that my vote DID NOT count! The reason my vote was rejected? I did not vote for an "approved" candidate! Kinda like Cuba where everyone votes, but Fidal was the only "approved" candidate. I know, people will now say "If you don't like it here you can move to Cuba." But wait, in our "free country" we are not "allowed" to go to Cuba. Guess we are stuck with each other. HaHaHaHa.

Interesting point of view. I only know about one candidate who was "not approved" in Florida. He was born in Nicaragua and, according to the Constitution, he cannot be President because he was not born in the United States. So, his party named an alternate candidate to run on his behalf in our stae. Just don't ask me how this works... Anyway, I hope you got to write in your vote in the space provided. And perhaps it counted, even if it made no difference in the final tally.
And get your passport ready because I suspect that very soon - should we still have our jobs - we will be spending our weekends in Havana.
