Two Florida Students Were Arrested For Sexting on June 1, 2011
Two Florida students were arrested on June 1, 2011 after one texted a nude photo to the other. Both a male and female student were arrested on charges of the transmission of pornography by electronic equipment.
According to Hernando County police, a female student reportedly texted a photo of her nude breast to a male student.
The 15-year-old boy told a school official about the sexting incident, claiming that he forwarded the photo to another student. He then claims that another student threatened to hurt him for the sexting photo.
The Florida Senate recently voted to decriminalize sexting. The new law has yet to be signed by Governor Rick Scott.
Last year, two Texhoma High School students were arrested for sexting.
