Longtime 'Grand Old Party' (GOP) operative Floyd Brown, who has launched his own online Impeach Obama Campaign website, took to World Net Daily last Thursday to ask: "Is it time to whisper the word 'impeachment'?"

WorldNetDaily -- the hard-right website that has trafficked the most outlandish rumors about the Obama presidency, including pushing the "birther" conspiracy -- is now circulating an article suggesting that the president should be booted from office. The effort is being spearheaded by the longtime GOP operative Floyd Brown, who has launched his own online Impeach Obama Campaign. On Thursday, Floyd took to WND to ask: "Is it time to whisper the word 'impeachment'?"

That story, quickly picked up by the progressive media tracker Media Matters, doesn't actually point to any particular impeachable offense committed by the president -- just the crazed notion that Obama has malevolence towards the country.

"'[H]igh crimes and misdemeanors' does not refer to a criminal act," Brown writes, referring to the grounds for impeachment. "Our Founding Fathers fully intended to allow for the removal of the president for actions which include: gross incompetence, negligence and distasteful behavior.

This is another laughable moment.  This kind of childish attitude comes from both sides of the aisle.  These people need to grow up and start discussing the issues.  I suppose that would be boring.

Agreed; almost. I need some childish examples from the other side of the aisle. Honest.

Sarah Jane Moore. Squeaky Fromme.

Any further questions?

Oh yes these are leading members of the establishment on the left. I forgot.

Nanute I'm sure if you go back the past 20 years or so, during the Bush/Clinton Dynasties you can find many examples.  It all depends who is in the White House.  This is from the Outside Looking In.  By the way watch MSNBC sometimes too:)

An impeachable offense is anything 218 house members says it is.

With 250 democrats impeachment is highly improbable.

When is it we make Politicians accountable for their promises in being elected? So far I only see lies from this fairy tale Nobel President. He has only increased the Wars in AfghanIraq, and has put up roadblocks in prosecuting Bush for war crimes, war lies, and torture. Not to mention his blindness to the millions of innocent people Bush had killed. He is nothing more than a dog and pony show for the Criminals who are really still in charge in Washington...Meaning the Bush wackers. I say we can't impeach, even though it seems we should.

To think if we were successful in impeaching Obama because of the things Bush caused is ludacrist. How do we know what pressure and threats Bush has placed on Obama if he goes against Bush doctrine? I think Bush has a gun to Obama's head!  We need to take care of Bush...that means prosecuting him for his crimes.to America and President Obama.

Rev, really?  Bush has a gun to Obama's head.  I think you give Bush too much credit and not enough to Obama.  I shake my head.

You don't know the CIA and the Corporate Skull and Bones in the US Acowp. They protect their lying interests...even to death.  I shake my head too...because its true.. We are slaves to the Bush Military 911 Doctrine. Until someway they prosecute Bush.

If we want to start prosecuting we better go as far back as JFK, with Vietnam and prosecute every Administration that has waged wars someplace.

Do you really think that enhanced investigations started or will stop with Bush?  NOT.   Neither did wars.

911 might have been the final straw, but let's take a look at the previous terror attacks, including, the USS Cole and the Embassy bombings.

Regime Change in Iraq was a Clinton doctrine taken over and acted upon by Bush.  I won.t aruge with you that the motivation was probably oil, that's almost a given.

If you take a jig saw puzzle you can see how nicely Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan fit into that puzzle.

Shoot, cowboy, we would need to go back to Polk with Mexico.

Actually, might do some good. Take folks minds off the current issues. The man has been dead too long too worry if his reputation got sullied. Might even get people to read their history lessons.

I have advocated that before Acowp....My start would be during Truman when he unecessarily dropped 2 atomic bombs on Japan .

The USS Cole and other attacks eminate from America's past injustices...and it's impotence to impeach murdering Presidents and the henchmen who support their crimes. Is it any wonder terror breaks out? And while those committing the acts do not consider it terror..they consider it justice...the US does the same by killing thousands of innocent people as they did and are still doing in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Just listen to VP Joe Biden on how he still supports drone missile attacks on the Afghan people. They are really insane.

No act of violence is justifiable. To do so or even the mere atttempt is a crime against nature. There is enough suffering in this world. It does not needed to be abetted by conscious action.

Slight does not justify further slight. It will only increase the pain caused tenfold.

I think it's time we stop listening to 'ideas' like this...

This is the most ridiculous thing I have read today.  Don't these extremists realize that they devalue their opinions by such outlandishness?

I think that the bottom line is more people voted for the Obama team than the McCain team.  Democracy doesn't always give you what you expect, and imperfect as it is, it's the best system going.  The elections come up again in a couple of years if the majority of Americans are dissatisfied they will vote him out of office.

Yup

No system is perfect. Human nature is not to be perfect though how we strive for it. A democracy is a popularity contest. As popularity rapidly and sometimes unwarrantedly (as high school may remind all those who disagree) changes so does the opinion of an elected official.

...and vote another goose-egg into power...the choices are already troubling...

The "Grand OLD Party" cheered when we didn't get awarded the Olympics, publicly hoped for an economic crisis, a couple even wished for another 911...now they're calling for impeachment and revolt.  I sincerely hope this method of self indulging politics comes to a prompt end.  It's disgusting.

Hey - it's entertaining for the rest of the world :)

Cynic: I agree! I'm having so much fun lately observing the U.S. political scene that I can hardly contain myself! LOL! I can hardly wait for the 2010 elections! That will really be a hoot!

I find it sickening. Negligence is fostered by pride and desire for supremacy. Ills are left unattended as a result of this struggle. It is not humorous it is the absolute travesty of our age.
