Focus on the Family bills itself as a non-profit organization, which must turn to its listeners for contributions in order to continue. However, it was recently revealed that Focus on the Family’s political arm CitizenLink gave $52,413.67 to GOP Rep. Todd Akin is who running against Democrat Claire McCaskill. Rep. Todd Akin has claimed that a woman suffering from a “legitimate rape” cannot get pregnant as her body somehow shuts down. He also claims that doctors have given abortion to women who were not pregnant.
