LTTE is now cornered into the No Fire Zone, but still have not given up. Must say, they are militarily defeated, yet their propaganda machine is busy and successful than ever. I guess that is to be expected since their propaganda mechanism always resided elsewhere.

What are they trying to achieve at this point?

Take advantage of the civilian population taken hostage by them in multiple ways.

(1) Recruit more and more.

(2) Kill many, take pictures, show the world. Does not matter even if the world knows they are doing the killing, as long as someone intervenes and the leaders get a chance at escaping.

(3) As long as the hostages are there, the government will be sending food and medicine which the LTTE is relying on now.

Will they let go of the Civilians if there is a ceasefire? Will they stop shooting at and butchering those who are trying to escape?
No.

Then how to rescue the Civilians? Well, does anyone have a solution for that?

A group of parents who came to the military on March 27 had revealed a shocking story about a priest, who was living among them in the ‘no fire zone’ in Puthumatalan, and helped the Tamil Tigers to forcibly recruit more than 550 underage children.

According to a mother (whose name cannot be revealed due to security reasons) parents of some 600 children had sent their children to a church located in Walayarmadam, just south of Puthumatalan in order to protect them from the LTTE’s continuing forcible recruitment of underage children and teenagers.

A priest had promised the parents that he would not allow the LTTE to take their children and would take care of them. But on March 24, a large group of LTTE cadres, most of them female cadres had appeared in the area. Soon the parents, who were in the vicinity, had informed the priest about the LTTE’s arrival.

But,he had told the parents to let them come as he would not allow them to take the children away. However when the LTTE cadres entered the premises and ordered the children to go with them the priest had disappeared from the location, leaving the LTTE to do whatever they want.

Several teenagers in the church had tried to attack the LTTE cadres, but some 550 children were forcibly taken away by the Tigers in vehicles. Some fifty teenagers had been able to run away and save their life. Most of the parents had started to attack the LTTE cadres, who in turn had brutally assaulted the parents.

One of the grandmothers, who spoke to the Daily Mirror over the phone, said that she was able to save her 17-year-old grandson after she dragged away one of the female LTTE cadres who tried to capture her grandson. Using the opportunity, the grandson had run away and now the entire family had come to the cleared area.

She also said that most of those parents are still at the church awaiting the return of their sons and daughters, though they had a chance to escape to the cleared areas.

I hope that SLDF get a direct access route to the "No Fire Zone" and rescue innocent civilians from the grip of tamil terrorists group ltte.

I think civilians are undergoing unimaginable sufferings. :-(

It is utmost time now to reach these civilians with the "HELP" to live.

I pray for it and also hope that remaining ltte cadres are willing to save own life and give the weapons up!

I don't understand.....Sri Lankan Prime Minister is saying that they have finished almost all Tamil militants & war is going for only another 2 days....Then where is coming from this make up stories.

Ohhh...May be.. its from defence.lk or army.lk or dailymirror.lk or rajapaksha & Co.lk

But some true news are coming from UN & Human rights groups that Sri lankan Government is killing innocent tamil children every day.....

Allow civilians to leave freely - UNSG tells LTTE
"LTTE's severe restrictions on freedom violate international law"

The Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon has expressed his deep distress by continuing reports of civilians being kept at extreme risk, against their will and with heavy casualties in a very small area by the LTTE, and calls on the LTTE leadership to allow civilians to leave the conflict area of their own free will.

He deplores the forced recruitment of civilians, particularly children, stating the severe restrictions of the LTTE on their freedom of movement violate international law.

ok Let's play by your imagination here, if the Tamils children are not recruited by the LTTE, what other choice do they have ?

No food, No medicine, No Shelter, No School, Many are orphaned by the Sri Lankan Government's war on Tamils Civilians, Many have seen their father forcibly taken away by the Sri Lankan Army, Many have seen their mothers and sisters are raped by the Sri Lankan Army, Many have endured insults and assaults directly from the Sri Lankan Army.

So why you are coming to the end of the line and accusing LTTE of recruiting them ?

If all the things that did not happen, then why would Tamils tolerate LTTE?!

If LTTE did not recruit them, what else these children would do?

The children will be abused, will see more traumatic events, and then finally they also will die from Sri Lankan Government bombing and shelling, right?

So why are you accusing this, but not the government who denied all rights and aid to the Tamils children in the first place?

Since in your book, LTTE is terrorists, but the Sri Lankan Government is almighty and good.
Then shouldn't the government have taken care of these children and provided them with viable alternatives?!!

Over 1000 Tamils Children have died since January of this year due to the Sri Lankan Government’s so called war on “terrorism”.

It sounds more like the Sri Lankan Government is the worst terrorists in Sri Lanka.

Please have a conscious.

People like you, while sending money to LTTE on one hand to butcher the Civilians in the south, massacre the civilians of border villages, and on the other hand, cheering LTTE on their ruination of Tamil people's lives in North and East up till now - and now finally you are cheering LTTE while they kill the people of your own community?

People with blood on their hands have the guts to come out in these forums and talk about the rights of the people? No shame.

If you are still acting out of being misled which I doubt very much, I suggest you open your eyes and look at who's running from whom to whom.

Hiranya u gotta get ur facts right, all u pplz wa u do is read sinhalese news... read all da news you could, read LTTE news and Srilankan news, then u would know the truth. Look one example, Rajapaksa said that they have captured Puthukudiyiripu 2 months ago right, and from LTTEs news they didnt say anything like that, so i again read on Srilankan news that they have captured Puthukudirupu which they did 2 weeks ago, but 2 months ago waz bullshit. I mean sinhalese pplz are falling in the track of governments propaganda. I remember this debate in UK tamil. sinhalese and foreighn ministers debate, on that debate the guy was arguing for the governemnt said that tigers going to be wiped out in 2 days time.. LOLZ..im still laughing, that you people are foolishd by Srilankan governemnt. BTW go and UNHCR, ICRC all the reports they have given. And btw have you watched the SBS dateline "Hunting the tigers" a documentry about whats happening in Srilanka.
