Foreign policy debate Romney misses key Obama failures
In a crucial 3rd and final presidential debate, Mitt Romney had opportunities to nail Obama on his disastrous foreign policy.
With many of the post analysis commentaries about the last in a series of three debates final on Monday night in Boca Raton, we can now analyze as the smoke clears. The general consensus among the objective news reports is that it was generally a tie with both candidates giving a good showing of themselves, but there were opportunities missed by Mitt Romney. If anything could ever be written as an epitaph on his head stone, it should be if he lost this election it will be said that he was the nicest and most capable president whoever blew his chance.
Obama's unemployment impotence haunts him
The debate was supposed to have been about foreign policy and generally was except for one segment where Obama and Romney got off track and started on the jobs issue in which Romney hammered Obama on his failure to create more jobs with 23 million Americans unemployed, with food stamp recipients growing from 32 million under Bush to 47 million under Obama. Point well taken, though the media will likely ignore that prospect as they usually do in defending Obama.
Fair moderating for once
An aging Bob Schieffer did a very good job of officiating in this debate, much like the approach of Jim Lehrer in the first debate in Denver, simply getting out of the way, and allowing both candidates to talk at length about the issues, even though the President did get more time. Mitt Romney came out very strongly in the end with his pitch for why he should be elected, but he missed two golden opportunities.
Opportunity number 1) Romney did not attack over the administration’s utter and total failure to come clean on why our Ambassador Stevens was killed, left to the terrorists, and why his appeals for added security and protection were ignored by Hillary Clinton’s State department? Why did the White House instruct Jay Carney to continue the lie about a little known film that supposedly angered the Muslim world and therefore was responsible for the violence that followed? Why Romney did not drive home the fact that Obama and Hillary then spent $70,000 US precious tax payer’s dollars to advertise on Syrian TV that they did not support an obscure film on You Tube that was a ridiculous excuse for aggravating the Islamic extremist attacks? Romney simply could have asked why wasn’t an attempt to rescue Ambassador Stevens and his staff made? Why was there no reprisal for the senseless violence that can only be attributed to America’s weakness under the Obama White House being exploited?
Opportunity number 2) Obama went on and on about how the US supported human rights by supporting the rebellions in Egypt and Libya. The President conveniently forgot to mention that now both Egypt and Libya appear to be solidly in the hands of the Muslim Brotherhood in lieu of the fact that both regimes were relatively stable with little if any violence. As a matter of fact Mubarak of Egypt had been a US ally. Romney failed to point out that President Obama authorized the use of American forces in Libya under foreign leadership in total violation of the US Constitution which states that the President must seek Congressional approval! This is and never has been anything else but an impeachable offense. However, in view of AG Eric Holder’s Department of Justice conduct, the White House is definitely not concerned with justice or Constitutional procedure!
Libyan fast and furious overlooked during debate
Mitt Romney failed to bring up another issue concerning Libya’s bloody civil war, and that was the question of US arms being walked across the border of that nation state. Once again the illegal and corrupt acts of the Obama White House rear their ugly head. Yet, this investigation, in its infancy, at the moment, will not go away though it will be ignored by the media as Darrel Issa and Senator Grassley move ahead against more stonewalling by AG Eric Holder, already convicted of contempt by Congress, who should be impeached.
No interest by Obama in defending US border with Mexico
In terms of foreign policy it may also be said that President Obama has had no interest in defending the borders of the US and Mexico, and that many US citizens and border patrol agents have been shot to death or murdered in savage fashion. Not to mention the 40,000 or so Mexican citizens who have been killed in the continuing saga of the drug cartel wars. It is clearly a matter of public record that Drug Cartel gangs enter the US with impunity.
Americans have very short memories and even a worse attention span apparently when it comes to the wrong doing of the Obama White House. Just months ago reports came out about a huge weapon cache and stolen fleet of US vehicles along with false flag military issue uniforms just 100 miles south of the a Texas Border town. Americans conveniently ignored or forgot that unidentified troop movements have been observed penetrating the US border at night. Not only Mexicans have been violating our borders but Central Americans, and even Middle Easterners which leads one to also determine that international terrorists are busy assessing the weaknesses for our border defenses. With the well constructed tunnels that have A/C and electrical lighting originating in Mexico and surfacing in warehouse buildings on the US side of the border, we have witnessed a White House unconcerned with enforcing the protection of US citizens.
Obama wants you to forget his failures
These are the damning realities that the Obama White House and the US media want Americans to conveniently forget about as we move to the November 6, 2012 election day and allow American voters to decide the outcome. In view of the illegal activities of the Obama administration I find it incredible that the presidential race is this close. It may well be that the mainstream media has made the case that the race is actually close when, in fact, it isn’t at all, and the public finally just needs to demonstrate that through informed and angry voter turn out that sends a message to Washington, “No more!”
