Former Female Drama Teacher Faces Sex Charges

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) – A former Guilford County drama teacher is charged with having sex multiple times with a student.
Leanne Macklin, 26, worked as a teacher at Weaver Academy High School for Performing and Visual Arts. She resigned in June and turned herself over to authorities today.
According to Greensboro police, they received a complaint about a teacher having a sexual relationship with a student on July 1.
Macklin faces five counts of sexual activity between school personnel and a student. She was released from jail after posting bond.
