Former US President Bill Clinton will turn 65 this Summer along with the NBA (National Basketball Association). The 65-year milestone will be the biggest annual celebration for the league since 1996 when the league turned 50.

Bill Clinton was born on August 19, 1946. He was the first of the baby-boomer generation elected as President in 1992 when he defeated George H.W. Bush. Clinton like many other Americans born in 1946 will be the first of the baby-boomers to reach the retirement age of 65 during the year 2011.

President Clinton was a fixture at the 1994 & 1995 College Basketball National Championship games that featured the University of Arkansas. Arkansas won the 1994 NCAA Championship beating Duke 76-72. The Razaorbacks lost the 1995 NCAA Championship game to UCLA 89-78.

Clinton was the Governor of Arkansas before he was elected as the 42nd US President.

President Barack Obama turns 50 on August 4, 2011. He was 35 when the NBA turned 50 in 1996.

The National Basketball Association is the youngest of the 4 major sport leagues in the US. The NBA will be turning 65 on June 6, 2011. The NBA was founded as BAA (Basketball Association of America) on June 6, 1946 in New York City at the old Hotel Commodore.

The NBA began as an 11-team league with a 60-game schedule. The first NBA game was played on November 1, 1946 when the New York Knickerbokers took on the Toronto Huskies at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto in front of 7,100 fans.

The BAA merged with the rival NBL (National Basketball League) in 1949 and the league was renamed the NBA.

NBA Champions make their yearly visit to the White House during the following season as guest of the President. When Clinton was Commander-In-Chief he was in office for 5 of the 6 Chicago Bulls visits.

The Bulls won 6 NBA Championships in 8-years during the Jordan-Pippen era. Scottie Pippen is native of Arkansas.

NBA Commissioner David Stern is the longest tenured Commissioner of the 4 major sports. He took office on February 1, 1984.

Since 2009 June has been proclaimed as NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month).
