Gunman Takes Hostages at Fort Stewart's Winn Army Community Hospital

A gunman took hostages at Winn Army Community Hopsital at Fort Stewart, demanding psychological treatment. 

The gunman, a former soldier, took a soldier hostage in the emergency room at 4am on September 6, taking two more hostages as he holed up in the behavioral health unit. The as-yet-unnamed hostage taker was armed with four weapons, and was taken into custody peacefully.

One of the hostages, an Army major serving as a nurse, helped talk the gunman into surrendering.
