CNN Reports: Watuaga, Texas (my city)

is the 2nd most affordable place to own a home in the NATION.

While no town is perfect, finally Watauga makes it into the national news for something besides cars hitting housestoddlers smoking weed on video and motorcycle vs. police chases ending with cops running over said motorcycle. (wtf?)

Bravo to CNN and Money Magazine for including us common folk. Bravo also to Watauga.  It's never to late to improve your image. We love our neighborhood and appreciate the good publicity. Pictured below: one of those affordable homes CNN was talking about..(mine) *Cat not included

Watauga, Texas

Median home price: $117,040 Median family income: $73,203
Watauga, TX

There's an energy rush on in Watauga. Many residents own land on the natural gas-rich Barnett Shale. Energy companies have offered signing bonuses and royalties worth thousands of dollars in exchange for drilling rights.

The town's growing population has attracted a new medical facility, Gertrude Tarpley JPS Health Center, which expects to bring in more than 16,000 patients in its first year of operation. Three-bedroom, single-family homes here start at a budget-friendly $65,000.  --B.B.
