Four Hindi-speaking persons shot dead in Assam:India

We humans always find some reason to fight.In north east India where hundreds of Hindi speaking people come to work as labourer are trapped in strange situation.The local militant group are now targetting these innocent people on the name of language.They blame migrant laboureres for the high unemploment rate amongst the locals.
Socio economic clashes is not new in India but doing this on the name of language is definitely new and it going to be big problem in coming times.

At least four Hindi-speaking persons were shot dead and two others injured by outlawed National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB)

militants in Assam on Tuesday.

Heavily-armed NDFB ultras fired from AK-47 rifles on a group of people near Naharani tea estate at Rangapara in central Assam's Sonitput district at 9.30am killing the four, police said.

Besides the two women, a man and a boy of the same family were shot dead by the militants.

The injured have been rushed admitted to a Tezpur hospital, while the police have launched a combing operation to apprehend the killers.

Police believe the killing could be in retaliation against stepped up operation against the NDFB by security forces with over 30 militants killed in the last one month.

There is a growing trend of intolerance towards people not speaking the local language, in other words outsiders. The right to settle and earn a livelihood is enshrined in Indian constitution and it is the duty of the state to protect minorities, whether religious or linguistic!

Thanks for the comment Ravi, The fundamental right to livelihood and mobility is there but this politics of hatred and unawareness of masses is real problem. The uneven development forces migration from one area to another but this creates friction.
Hope the inclucive growth agenda will cover this aspect also.
