Four SWAT team officers have been shot, one was wounded severely, during a drug and gun raid in Lakewood, New Jersey. Officers were wearing bulletproof vests, which saved them from life-threatening injuries, although one officer -- Jonathan Wilson -- was shot in the forehead and risks losing his eye.

The suspect -- 39-year-old, Puerto Rican born Jamie Gonzalez is in critical condition from sustained gun wounds suffered in response fire. Gonzalez's house was raided by the SWAT team early in the morning when the shooting began. Gonzalez has been charged with four counts of attempted murder. He will be released on a $2 million bail.

Law enforcement officials were executing a "no-knock" search warrant at 2:25 a.m. at 1154 Mackenzie Court when four township officers from the SWAT team were fired upon from atop a staircase inside the two-story home, officials have said.
