Fox News "Red Eye" Host Ridicules U.S. Allies, Canadian Military

Are these people serious? What a bunch of ill-informed idiots! And to think this was supported by FOX. These fools should do some research before they start poking fun at one of their country's main allies in the way they did. Shame on FOKS...oops ....sorry FOX!

As histories best friends and defender of our American cousins, it would be wrong for us to suggest that the four ignorant moron's on Red Eye in anyway represented the vast majority of americans.

The difference I suppose is this.  We have lost 116 of our military personnel to date.  And yet, we expect no apology from these moron's.  I would suggest though that if the roles were reversed, and a canadian television program insulted a single american family by minimizing the loss of their son or daughter in military action...that there would be hell to pay.

I have turned off Fox.  I do not want to be further confused between the good americans that I know...and the ugly americans that this program presents.

As a proud Canuck , i am increasingly distressed that our kids are there, at all, and dying in greater numbers lately too. It even bothers me more due to my beliefs in the event (911) that sent them there in the first place. I support the troops but have no faith in the mission now. I disliked the Taliban the minute they started blowing up 2000 year old artifacts long before 911. The world is full of repressive and crazy regimes. I just cant see any benefit to Canada to stay there a minute longer. I know the individual soldier will get a certain amount of satisfaction out of helping some of the people there but it seems like a bottomless pit of despair otherwise.  But, being a NATO ally and being an honourable country we supported our friends, the Americans, and committed Canadian resources and blood to the effort in Afghanistan.
Letting right wing freaks belittle our efforts and blood wont do much to endear the Canadian public anyways. Some of these people need to get out and stand, along the " Highway Of Heros " in Ontario, in the freezing cold as our fallen are brought home to rest. There will be thousands of people out this week too as our latest fallen heros are brought home. People routinely line the road and bridges to pay their respects en masse for every soldier carrying flags and saluting as they pass. As far as the fighting spirit of Canadians? You might want to ask the German SS Panzer groups we decimated after D-Day.

Plus, as for America protecting Canada, protecting Canada from who?  Russia, Mexico, N. Korea, um,  Iran?  As far as I know the only county ever to invade Canada was the US and that resulted in their imminent retreat and a burned presidential house later painted white to cover the scorches, The White House.

I feel sorry for all of you, your families who you have dishonoured, the American people who you have disgraced for your comments and for the Canadian People who you have shown the utmost disregaurd for in your comments about the Canadian Forces.  You have disgraced all of those who have died in 9/11 by saying such comments about a Country that has fought hand in hand towards the same goals and aspirations as your Nation, in order to keep North American's safe from Terrorism.  I realize that you try to stir up things, but is there no Honour is journalism anymore?  Do you, who sits behind a desk and behind camera's instead of behind a rifle in front of the enemy think you deserve the right to make such calous remarks just for a little controversy?  Why don't you read a little about the Canadian Forces and learn something about it? It seems you are in need of a little higher learning.  I hope that everyone forgets about what you said, and as human beings you don't deserve anything including the spotlight you are getting for your comments.  If you think I am wrong, then I challenge you (even though I don't think any of you have the balls) to speak directly to any person in the US Army who has served with Canadians, hell, why not even talk directly to someone in the Canadian Army?
    One day, if any of you manage to scrounge what honour and dignity you might have left, I hope that you aren't able to sleep at night because of what you said.

I'm hoping that Greg Gutfeld (and his ilk) represent only the smallest percentage of Americans that feel 116 soldiers lives lost in Afghanistan is an insignificant contribution to a war effort. I've never watched Red Eye, nor do I ever care to.  Recently, it was brought to my attention that in an episode aired on the 20th, a feeble attempt at humour was made at the expense of Canadian sacrafice in Afghanistan...and indeed at the expense of grieving Canadian families. Canadian culture and intelligence was questioned and made fun of. I am of the opinion that these four individuals should be investigated for fostering public unrest concerning the allied effort in Afghanistan. Further, all those who were involved in producing and/or airing this distasteful, disgusting program; should be questioned as well.

Fox should come forward immediately, with a public apology to the whole of Canada. ...and more particularly to the families of our fallen comrades.

This is standard fare for the fox network...Their most loyal viewers are the lowest of American society..populated by wacko religious groups, gun toting idiots and the reason Americans are held in such disregard in the rest of the world.  For the record, in addition to the war they lost to a bunch of pesants in Southeast Asia, they were also beaten by a small force of Canadians in 1812..Our problem is going along with them in another part of the world that wants nothing of the "American Way".  Let's leave them to their folly and get the ---- out of there

Proving once again the extreme ignorance of anything that is not USA USA USA, this show fails to be even aware of the 118 Canadian military service personal who gave their lives fighting in the most violent regions of Afghanistan. We're helping to clean up one the many messes the United States has left world wide. Our thanks a slap in our faces.

Sorry we didn't follow your last president into Iraq to find non-existant WMDs. How's that war going for you? Military isn't the solution to everything. How many innocent civilians in Iraq have American solders killed to date?  Of course that isn't reported on.  How many more extremists has that created?  Do you even know?

Hopefully your new leader will show more common sense than George W. Bush and Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld.

I respect many of my American friends, but Fox is showing ignorance in full on this crappy show. Fox is literally a blocked channel on my remote now.

It is most unfortunate that Redeye host and guests were showing off on that program and mocked the Canadian military.  They were very wrong.  It is to be noted, however, that this was not in conjunction with the death of the four fallen Canadian soldiers....that information became knowledge after the program in question aired.  But that does not excuse them in any way.  Both Canadian and American soldiers are to be held in high esteem....they do the fighting for us while we live in safety.  Redeye is a new program on Fox that is on around 3 o'clock in the morning and appeals mostly to young people.  But Fox News Network is a great station.  I am Canadian and cannot get all we want to know about American and World News on Canadian Networks.  When we were confined to CNN, it was so boring and biased.  Now with Fox we get a lively and fair and balanced report.  There are so many great hosts on there including Glenn Beck (who came over from CNN), Greta Van Sustern, Sean Hannity and particularly Bill O'Reilley. and many others....we cannot possibly damage all of their images because one idiot (Greg Gutfeld) messed up.  Fox has very high standards and I am sure by now this guy is across the mat for his comments.  As for the fighting in Afghanstan and Iraq, we might as well face the fact that if the fighting is not done there, then it will take place on our own soil!  World War 2 veterans knew this so well--for a time then, it was very possible that such a small country as Germany could have overrulled us.  It is no different today.....if we do not watch out, Arab countries could overtake us....just ask any old veteran who faught against Hitler...they know the score!  And don't condemn Fox, just Greg Gutfeld.

I would like to know if Doug Benson will come to Edmonton, AB on April 2nd -5th at "The Comedy Strip" and perform after his comments on your show? Does he know that Edmonton is a strong Canadian military city? It's hard to believe Monica wrote two political books and was a foreign affairs and political analyst. Who did Monica sleep with to get the doctorate in international relations? She gives "blonde" a whole new meaning. William Dawes "Bill" Schulz is listed as a writer, FOX producer and a "journalist"? For a guy born in 1975, he should not talk on TV. It really helps promote his lack of intelligence on countries that border the good ol' US of A. He needs to watch CTV "Flash Point" to see Canadian cops don't all ride horses. RCMP Red Serge is worn for the tourists in National Parks and special government ceremonies. Just goes to show the ignorance, arrogance & stupidity of the uninformed.  Considering the mentality of these PEA BRAINS it's easy to understand why Blacks were persecuted in the Great U.S of A. Imagine having these GUTLESSFELDS covering your back in the heat of battle. Not going to happen. They could never have been part of any structured organization. I take comfort in knowing that the majority of Americans appreciate and respect the Canadian Military and mourn the loss of one hundred and sixteen of our Fallen Heros.

Back in the mid 50s I was reading a U.S. war comic book on my front step in a Nova Scotia town when a returned Canadian war vet from the Italian theatre who lived next door noticed it and said, Don't believe that garbage, the Americans couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag.I remembered his words, and in thinking back to Pearl Harbor, Korea and Vietnam, and Iraq and even the drug wars and the recent grovelling to Iran I can see how right he was. If the Americans ever get uppity towards Canada we will get the Viet Cong after them.

I have many American friends and they are all loving, intelligent, and friendly just like many of my friends here. The bottom line is that the majority of us on both sides of the border share the same values, hopes and dreams. This however is not newsworthy (especially by low level quality providers such as Fox) so we are left with the tiny percentage of extremists on both sides.

To negate Canada's war effort is Naive given the facts:

WW 1     1914-1918     Canada enters war in 1914  -  US enters war in 1917

WW2      1939-1945     Canada enters war in 1939  -  US enters war in 1941 (because of                                                                                       Pearl Harbor)

I think the 4 babbling fools should come up on Monday and stand on one of 50 bridges over the Highway of Heroes and watch and salute along with thousands of proud Canadian citizens, firefighters, police officers as they watch the 4 hearses carrying our latest brave boys to their final resting place.
