California, January 26: Because of the fraud by an American university innocent Indian students have lost lakhs of rupees they paid as fees and are to return home without getting the degree they sought to attain. Several people in India borrow money at heavy interest rates to send their children abroad for education. Such parents are now heart-broken. Tri-Valley University situated in California has issued visas illegally to hundreds of students to make money. While the university was permitted issue 30 visas it has issued 939.. Because of the fraud committed by this university situated in the Silicon Valley, hundreds of Indian students are now facing the prospect of being sent back, without education and having lost their money. Most of the Indian students are from Andhra Pradesh. US investigating authorities said the founder and president of the institution Dr. Susan Xiao-Ping Su was using it to issue US Visas to any foreign nationals willing to pay for it. The university was now closed and cases were registered against its authorities. However, Indian students are suffering for no fault of theirs. The university had 1550 students and most of them are Indians. It is also found by the US investigators that though the university was showing that all the students were living in the area, most have been living and working elsewhere.
