Free espresso for daylight saving time in Minneapolis

If you live in Minneapolis, make sure you head to Caribou Coffee Co on Sunday and Monday, as they will be giving out free espresso shots to help people cope with losing one hour of sleep due to daylight saving time.

You can either have a free shot or have one added to your favourite drink as the company hopes to 'save customers from the worst mornings of the year'.

“As if losing an hour of sleep isn’t bad enough on Sunday, by the time Monday rolls around, you feel like a zombie,” said Alfredo Martel, the company’s senior vice president of marketing.

I used to work in a kiosk version of a coffee shop chain. i took this photo during my grade 11 year in a photography course i was taking at the time. you can see more of my work at flickr.com/photos/flyingboy9. I love the idea of giving away free espresso on Monday morning, and all coffee shops should consider it seriously.

This is a great shot of espresso from a Michigan coffee shop featured in Barista Magazine this quarter, Ugly Mug Cafe. The other is a little latte art I work on from time to time.

Free espresso is always good, too far away for me though!

The machine is Swiss-made, the beans fresh roasted Brazilian. I was waking up to a crisp wintery morning with this espresso, the last threads of a dream slowly dissolving. Sugar floated atop a creamy layer, caffeine put things in the sharp focus of reality.
