Why not having access to free printer?! Have you thought about it?!?

If you have paid too much for printing your homework or run down to find a print card, you might have though about it.

Here, at Surrey Campus, students pay 11 cents for printing a page. Also, in order to use a printer, the loaded print card is necessary.

As a student, do you think we pay too much for tuition fee, books, student association fee, and what have you fee??!!

In simpler words, students generate tons of money for university just by being a student and pay for all those fees.

In some other colleges and universities, students can print up to some number of pages for free.

In my opinion, university can show a little appreciation to its students by providing access to free printers.

As a student, I would feel good about having access to free printers so at least I feel that I’m getting something for free; however, everybody knows that I pay for it in some other ways. Also, it does not hurt to save a little bit here and there.

I am getting charge for student association which I have not exercised it. The student association provides membership to Surrey Park Recreation and Culture. Not only do I live in Downtown but also I don’t have time even to finish my assignment and homework. Consequently, some part of that money can go towards having access to free printers.

If you think that I’m out of my mind, you can ignore this and continue paying for printing your stuff. Otherwise, think about it loudly!!!!

Anon-and-on

you seem to be missing the point and asking the wrong questions.

Why do students even need a printer, any printer, free or otherwise? The "classroom" which means all levels of education should be a more or less "paper free zone" especially with the low cost of flash USB drives, or those tiny flash memory cards. I have one which is 8GB and only the size of the nail on my small finger.

I'm always afraid if I cough it will blow away.

Also with online storage, why are students still required to submit "paper work" seems insane in this day and age. And the students would actually save money!

I gave up printers from my computer setup about five years ago. I don't even own one!

I still use some print like for business cards, the odd bit of color printing, I go to FedX to have it done.

PLEASE start a campaign at your university, to make it a "PAPER FREE ZONE!"
