Free Speech is your Right but Responsible Speech is your Duty

There  are two schools of thought on free speech:
First defends an absolute freedom of thought and expression ; Second talks about restraining exactly how much and what you can say.

That’s why defamation laws were brought in existence that  have historically been used  to protect the rights of rich and powerful

I personally stand committed to the human right of freedom of speech and expression of thought but am of the strong opinion that your right to free speech and expression should not interfere with a person or group of persons right to their beliefs and way of life.

There have been always parallels drawn and statements made on this issue whether they were about drawing cartoons, discrediting Gods and lords, desecrating belief systems or burning flags or displaying them , Do you think its about time that we set some rules down ?

I believe free speech, is a privileged Right, in a public forum , to be used keeping in mind the rights and beliefs of the others; so as not to be hurtful to a person or group of persons.

Treat others with justice and respect. In the long run, how you treat others will be how they treat you.
