I have had occasion of late to cruise around the edge of the Van Nuys Airport here in the San Fernando Valley. The Los Angeles Fire Department has their Air Operations on both sides of the runway. The East side has two bright yellow Super Scooper type sea planes parked there.
These planes come to us from Quebec in Canada. They have been proving their worth and courage by flying over the flames of the Sayre Wildfire this morning. One of my favorite shots from this morning was plane number 243 taking the lead in one of their first passes of the day. As he climbed up he crossed under the moon.
I think that we need to gives thanks to everyone who has come from far and wide to help us whn so many need it most!
