Frontline: Too Timid, Too Little, Too Late

Frontline’s “Bush’s War” on PBS Monday and Tuesday evening was a nicely put-together rehash of the top players’ trickery that led to the attack on Iraq, together with the power-grabbing, back-stabbing, and limitless incompetence of the occupation.

Except for an inside-the-beltway tidbit here and there—for example, about how the pitiable secretary of state Colin Powell had to suffer so many indignities at the hands of other type-A hard chargers, Frontline added little to the discussion. Notably missing was any allusion to the unconscionable role the Fourth Estate adopted as indiscriminate cheerleader for the home team; nor was there any mention that the invasion was a serious violation of international law. But those omissions, I suppose, should have come as no surprise.

Cheney wanted to shutdown Iraq's oil production. He succeeded. Peak Oil Deception

As far as WMDs, we gave them plenty of time to hide them or get them out of the country, which the media doesn't explore much anymore. The media is good at making Bush look stupid, but he is not. Witness that no one has actually tried to remove him from office, officially or unofficially. Why not? Think about it.

Hey I don't think Bush is stupid.  He's of average intelligence but his handlers are very smart.  That doesn't make them good, moral, or right.

Bush is not the one that's going to be paying back the three trillion dollars for the fiasco, you and your kids and their kids are. He'll be relaxing on his 100,000 acre ranch in Paraguay you guys bought for him.

He's not the one that will be at risk when he travels because he will have good security, but you and all other Americans will be.

He's had no relatives killed and couldn't care less if a million plus brown skinned guys die so his buddies and the bankers can get rich.

The "Peak Oil Deception" is the actual deception.

No one has tried to remove him from office because he holds almost all the cards, which he has given himself since 911, and he has most of the monied powerful gangsters backing him.  Try to really do anything about him and one would end up in a shallow grave, in Guantanamo, or on a secret flight to nowhere.

In fact Joseph Stiglitz - Nobel laureate and former chief economist of the World Bank, says that the war in Iraq and George's tom-foolery is responsible for the terminal situation in your economy and in fact globally.  Now who am I supposed to believe, you or Stiglitz?
