Ft. Carson soldier states he's a "Cold Hearted Killer"
A Fort Carson soldier who declared on MySpace that he was becoming a "cold hearted killer" in search of a sex slave is in custody on allegations he murdered a 19-year-old woman. Robert Hull Marko is at least the seventh soldier or former soldier from a single brigade at Fort Carson to be charged with homicide.
"I'm becoming a true Black Raptor already, i'm becomeing a cold hearted killer and can kill without mercy or reason," Marko, 21, said in a misspelled missive posted under the moniker Rex290 on his MySpace page. On Monday, Marko's birthday, his instructions led deputies to a body believed to be that of Judilianna Lawrence in woods near Old Stage Road west of Colorado Springs. An autopsy will officially confirm the identity.
"Some kind of animal came into our lives," said Judilianna's mother, Aekyong Lawrence, 56. "My daughter was a sweetheart. . . . She loved to take care of her sisters. She loved to take care of me." Marko, originally from Decatur, Mich., is being held without bail in the El Paso County jail for investigation of sexual assault and first-degree murder. "I never knew he existed before my daughter disappeared," Lawrence said Tuesday. She said he took advantage of her daughter's learning disability through Internet communications.
On Friday, Judilianna left home to go to a bowling class at a special-education school but never arrived. School officials and her mother were immediately alarmed. "It had never happened before," Lawrence said. She had her younger daughter search Judilianna's My Space account. The communications between her daughter and Marko stood out, she said. Their last exchange had taken place just a day earlier, Lawrence said. In the messages the two agreed to meet, but they didn't say where.
It is unclear whether Judilianna knew anything about Marko's MySpace postings, which include references to sexual torture and bondage. In one he said: "I'm looking for female slave in Colorado Springs ..." Lawrence called sheriff's deputies about 5 p.m. and told them about the e-mails with Marko, said Lt. Lari Sevene, a sheriff's spokeswoman.
Marko admitted to police he had taken Judilianna into the mountains west of Colorado Springs, but he said he had an argument with her and left her there, Sevene said. Fearing that Judilianna could be lost in the mountains or might have injured herself, the sheriff's office mounted a search using dog teams.
"We were really, really concerned that she was hurt," Sevene said.
