G20 IN - G8 Out: Saviour or Evil Power Influencing Economy?
Amidst the sensationalistic protest at Pittsburgh, the real story is that the G8 has turned into the G20, as far as coordinating global financial issues.
The G8 meeting planned in Ontario June 2010, will now be extended to a meeting of many of the G20 leaders. World leaders are feeling positive seeing the economy regaining strength.
Together, the G20 member countries represent around 90% of global gross national product, 80% of world trade and two-thirds of the world's population.
The G20 member states have reportedly agreed that the group will replace the G8 as the main coordinating body for global financial issues. The G20 leaders are in Pittsburgh, the US for a two-day summit.
APTN, citing a White House fact sheet, reports that the move initiated by President Barack Obama will be announced on Friday.
...The G20 leaders seem to be a lot more positive now since the signs of economic recovery can already be seen. However, in the draft communiqué they pledged to keep stimulus packages in place until a recovery is secured.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Friday confirmed the Group of Eight summit originally planned for June 2010 in Huntsville, Ont., will now be expanded to include a second meeting with leaders of major developing economies who are part of the larger G20.
The announcement came following an agreement reached among leaders of the world's largest developed and developing economies to make the Group of 20 the main international body addressing global economic conditions.
Times are changing. No more unipolar global power, but truly a dialogue between international countries. The great leader of Russia speaking to Pittsburg students states the most important thing in the world is Love.
A sign of greatness, and a renewed hope.
President Medvedev has been among the first to arrive in Pittsburgh, where ahead of the summit he found time to talk to students on a wide range of issues at the city's main university.
“We are all different, and that is good. But we have common values, which is even better,” he said while addressing students.
While answering questions from the university students, Dmitry Medvedev yold what he believes is the most important thing in life.
“Love! What can be more important?!” Medvedev said.“Love towards people closest to you, those who are near. To my mind, it’s in line with any commandments – both moral and religious. It is the sense of life. Each of us understands the world differently, but it is probably the most important thing in life.”
Medvedev’s speech at Pittsburgh University seems to be a historic event by itself, since Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev visited this university and made an address this very day exactly 50 years ago, in 1959.
Obama stated on July 6, 2009
‘Mr Medvedev, like myself, is a leader of the present and of the future.’
However there is the other side of things. The G20 will hold global financial power. Whoever owns the money will have global dominance.
Head of states often elect the heads of major financial institutes, as opposed to these position being elected by the stake holders.
Central bankers, after all, as well as the heads of all international financial institutions (IMF, WTO, World Bank), are not elected into their positions, but rather selected by heads of state.
Is this the beginning of a One World dominate force, and that these meetings are secretive and the public has no say in it.
So many questions. Was the economic crisis created to usher in a One World Order? Will it only benefit the ones that are rich already? Do they really want to share the wealth?
Given the atmosphere of total secrecy and security at these events, a very strong impression is created that these international summits between the bankers and political leaders are only concerned with further enriching the fat cats of the corporate world. In other words, what is good for the rich will ultimately benefit the poor, even if it may take a few more centuries.
“This is where the G-20 totally fails the democracy litmus test,” says Shawna Taylor, a spokesperson with Code Pink, a group that draws attention to the plight of females in wartime. “They talk about open dialogue, yet they fence off the entire city of Pittsburgh so that just the chosen few can speak their minds.”
Or is the world working together as a team to solve our problems? Who knows?

My opinion is that as always, it is not about the system, it is about who runs it - the intent behind it. There has to be an open policy, transparency and freedom for the people to vote and have input.
Love is the most important thing. People who only seek power are really seeking love. Wars are fought out of fear, then antithesis of love.

Why does the "love for money" seemingly over ride the love for the people?
We now have a semi-unified elite from 20 richest nations to rule over an unruly world, at the foundation of UN it was stated that every nation should have a say? It's my bet that there is going to be a lot of arguing and we must take account of what happens when there is to many cooks. Yep the broth gets spoiled! Muammar Gaddafi the Libyan leaderhit the nail on the head when he questioned the veto option of 4 top nations concerning United Nation's well at least he pointed out a main factor UN had been culled because of to many nations arguing so 4 nations took over the floor and the powerfullest nation the US had the leading say.
The problem with the worlds elite is they will never totally agree and the country with the most money and power will end up in the power wilding chair. China must be smiling as they are the most powerful nation and have america by the throat.
China's wish to have a multi-soveign world currency to take over from a very unstable dollar will be one of the items placed on the table of debate. I think they will get their way.
Elitist to watch with this gradual power swap is EU, Russia and of course the main players China.

Believe me, I know - and I know because of personal circumstance, which I won't go into here - or just about anywhere else on the internet, but in business, love just does not come into anything.
A man or woman who comes preaching love so you may offer them a coin is the most cynical of cynics, the most vile of vile, the most committed to your displeasure as they can muster.

Business is business
This is the way it has always been done. Self interest... I agree.
But there is no room for that anymore. Can it change?
