The G20 Meltdown protest today was considered by police and press as both potentially, and in reality, the most explosive and violent of several demonstrations across London today.
Forget the rubbish fed by the press, this protest was intentionally from start 'kettled' - fed into a 'pen' and contained by the Police. No one was allowed to leave or join. we had no freedom of movement. I saw no exceptions made. There were no toilets, water, or food. I saw no exceptions or mercy from the cordons of police officers. Despite the press suggestions, the protestors were not all young 'unwashed' or anarchist youths bent on violence and destruction. This woman to me represents the real spirit that the press denied existed.
No freedom to march and protest, all of the demonstrators on this protest were pre-labelled "criminal". I fear for the future.
